The Raytheon team will now compete for task orders to enhance and maintain the capabilities of the army battle command system (ABCS).

ABCS products developed by battle command organisations are used throughout the theatre and lack commonality.

The task orders aim to unify these products into a net-centric, service-oriented architecture.

This will give ABCS a common look and feel within its family of products and improved interoperability with other army systems.
