The Australian Army will replace ADF 4200 Land Rovers with protected light mobility vehicles expected to perform combat support roles such as command, liaison and light battlefield resupply.

The Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) has issued a request for proposal (RFP) seeking Australian manufactured and supported protected mobility vehicles under Project LAND 121 phase 4.

According to the Australian Ministry of Defence, the new vehicles will provide better safety to troops deployed overseas through improved ballistic and blast protection, compared to lightweight vehicles currently in use.
