EADS North America has delivered two UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopters to the US Army for operations in Puerto Rico.

The UH-72A is inspired by Eurocopter’s EC145 multi-role helicopter and can figure in a range of operations from support to medical evacuation.

So far, 128 UH-72As have been ordered from EADS North America for the US Army and National Guard service, with plans to acquire a total of 345 by 2016.

The helicopters have been used by the Army and National Guard units in operations ranging from support and medical evacuation missions to multi-role airlift
