The technology provides soldiers with enhanced operational capabilities such as threat detection, target designation and intelligence-gathering for the command and contact units.

In addition to the binoculars the DGA has ordered 430 tactical portable MEPS 08P monitors and 90 ROSS (remote observation support system) teleoperated systems, as well as maintenance spares for the armed forces.

Deliveries of the binoculars are scheduled for the first half of 2010.

Sagem received the order as a follow-on from a contract for 850 pieces of equipment for the French Army in January 2006.
