The US Army has awarded a $29.1m contract to VT Group to provide logistics services for its fleet of 450 CH-47 cargo helicopters.

Under the contract, the defence and support services company will provide logistics analyses, maintain and update logistics information management systems and provide operational logistics support for all 450 CH-47 cargo helicopters.

VT Group’s technical services division will provide contractor services and deliverables for CH-47D and CH-47F logistics fleet management and sustainment, as well as product manager, foreign military sales and sustainment support for all CH-47 cargo helicopters.

The scope of support also includes logistic support for the subsystems, product improvements in line with the army transformation plan for CH-47 and development of training devices.

The contract has been awarded by the Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM). Work will be carried out at AMCOM headquarters in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
