Longbow LLC programs president at Lockheed Martin missiles and fire control Jerry Garman said that the Longbow FCR was an essential element of UK Apache operations in Afghanistan.

“Through this partnership with AgustaWestland, we will ensure the highest operational availability and system reliability at the lowest sustainment cost,” Garman said.

The four-year contract is part of the integrated operational support provided by AgustaWestland to the UK Ministry of Defence.

Work, which will run until March 2014, will be carried out at Wattisham Airfield in the UK, Lockheed facilities in Ocala and Florida, and Northrop facilities in Maryland.
