Northrop Grumman and Cubic Mission and Performance Solutions (CMPS) have jointly demonstrated a gateway system solution based on the High Capacity Backbone (HCB) capability.

The solution will support the US Department of Defense’s (DoD) Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) with foundational connectivity and processing capabilities.

According to Northrop Grumman, the gateway system will enable the ‘delivery of the right data, to the right place, at the right time’.

Northrop Grumman network solutions director Kevin Berkowitz said: “We connected disparate systems that will enable interoperability to help the Department of Defense achieve their JADC2 vision.

“This further illustrates our commitment to seamlessly integrate advanced networking capabilities with multiple industry partners which will, in turn, create an information advantage critical to succeed in an era of technology-driven conflict.”

The demonstration leveraged solution sets including PlatformONE, GatewayONE, and Northrop Grumman’s Resilient Network Controller using containerised software architecture.

The latest demonstration, the fourth in a series of tests, successfully showcased the advanced Open Mission System (OMS) capabilities in JADC2 mission environments.

CMPS Secure Communications and GATR vice-president and general manager David Harris said: “Cubic sees this successful demonstration as the first of many to come, including a complex air/ground flight test event we have planned for next year.

Northrop Grumman and Cubic recently displayed a vendor-agnostic network via OMS interfaces that provides improved all domain command and control capabilities to fourth and fifth generation platforms.

Later this year, Northrop Grumman plans to conduct another demonstration to further expand capabilities.
