Venezuela is looking to purchase military transport aircraft from Russia, according to an official from state arms exporter Rosoboronexport.

Rosoboronexport official Sergei Kornev said the arms agency was expected to conclude a contract in transport aviation with Venezuela.

Previous Russian exports to Venezuela include Su-30MK2 Flanker-G aircraft, Mi-17B-5 Hip-H, Mi-35 Hind-E helicopter gunships as well as Mi-26T Halo freight transport helicopters.

Major customers for the Russian military aircraft include India, Venezuela, Algeria and Malaysia, according to RIA Novosti.
