General Dynamics Itronix has introduced a GD300 fully rugged arm or chest-worn computer to enable the warfighters to pinpoint their location, refer to pre-loaded mission plans and access secure tactical networks.

The Android-based GD300 operates like an ultra-sensitive commercial GPS unit or interfaces with tactical radios such as the Rifleman radio (AN/PRC-154) for secure access to the tactical network.

The GD300 is equipped with a quadra-helix antenna for real-time global positioning that resists interference if the user is placed in mountainous regions or urban environments.

The system operates in two distinct modes, as a stand-alone GPS device or as a tactical mission computer when connected to a tactical radio providing unprecedented GPS and situational awareness for warfighters.

When connected to a tactical radio, the lightweight, less than 8oz, computer enables secure communication, information sharing and collaboration among warfighters.

The GD300 computer meets the MIL-STD 810G specifications for ruggedness and supports the tactical ground reporting (TIGR) system that is currently used by the military.
