The Defense Security Cooperation Agency in the US has notified Congress of a potential sale to Finland for the upgrade of 24 M270 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and associated parts.

Under the $100m foreign military sale, Finland will receive upgrades of 24 M270 multiple launch rocket systems to the universal fire control system configuration, and one M31 guided multiple launch rocket system unitary.

The package will also include one army tactical missile system T2K, 36 ruggedised memory units, 25 interface devices, eight M68 to M68A2 trainers, pare and repair parts as well as related support services.

The proposed sale will contribute to the Finnish military’s goal to modernise its armed forces and enhance interoperability with US and other allies.

Lockheed Martin will be the prime contractor.
