Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) has won a contract for mobile sensors operations and maintenance services of the Cobra King radar system.

Under the $340m indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, RI&S will operate and sustain the radar and communication system that monitors missile launches and gather data.

The company’s workforce will keep the radars, communications and their subsystems in operating condition round-the-clock.

The Acquisition Management and Management Integration Center in Florida’s Patrick Space Force Base is serving as the contracting activity.

The contracting centre is obligating $17.7m in fiscal 2022 operations and maintenance funds upon the contract award.

The company will perform the contractual work at Patrick Space Force Base, and outside continental US locations.

Work is scheduled for completion by October 2031.

Earlier this week, the company announced that the US Army awarded a $13.4m engineering services contract for the continued support of a variant of the SMART-T satellite communication (SATCOM) system.

Under this $13.4m contract, RI&S will provide integrated logistics support services such as technical manual updates and other engineering services.

The company will perform the work at its Maryland, Florida, and Massachusetts facilities.
