Harris has awarded a contract to GE Intelligent Platforms to supply PPC7EP single-board computers for the US Army multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) M-270 high-mobility artillery rocket systems (HIMARS) programme.
The subsystem incorporates a PMCGA4C graphics accelerator card with maximum configurational flexibility and can be deployed in each vehicle.

HIMARS enables the troops to engage and defeat artillery, air defence concentrations, trucks, light armour and personnel carriers, as well as support troop and supply concentrations.
The new contract is valued in excess of $3.5m and is likely to have a ceiling value of approximately $7m.
Harris was subcontracted by Lockheed Martin to develop electronics for the US Army’s MLRS/HIMARS platform earlier this year.
