The Government of Australia is set to invest $78.2m (A$101.1m) to upgrade Gallipoli Barracks, a military base in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
The investment will be used to build vehicle workshops, hardstands and shelters to support the modernisation of the Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force vehicle fleet.

The facilities will be delivered by Lendlease under the Land 121 Stage 5B programme.
Australian Minister for Defence Peter Dutton said: “This next generation of light, medium and heavy vehicles is capable of supporting combat operations, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, and training to ensure the Australian Defence Force is prepared for both current and future operations.
“This A$101.1m is a welcome investment in the Queensland economy that will generate opportunities for our local businesses.”
The project works are expected to complete by mid-2024 and employ around 150 per day during peak construction period.

Separately, the Australian Government will also invest $26.29m (A$34m) at Swanbourne, Western Australia, and $12.37m (A$16m) at Hobart, Tasmania, respectively for similar works.
The project work in Swanbourne will take three years to complete, while work at Hobart will be finished in 16 months.
Recently, the Australian Army received the first 25 of 211 Boxer 8×8 combat reconnaissance vehicles (CRVs) from Rheinmetall. The delivery includes 13 multipurpose and 12 reconnaissance variants.
