Kuwait is modernising and extending the service of the M1A2 tanks.

In 2017, the country requested the delivery of 218 M1A1 Abrams tank hulls with 120mm cannons and 218 AGT-1500 (M1 Tank Series) engines from the US.

With this training ammunition, Kuwait will be able to improve its armed forces capability to address current and future threats, as well as safeguard border regions and critical land-based infrastructure.

In May this year, Kuwait requested $800m a FMS of 84 Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancements (MSEs) and associated equipment from the US.
