Boeing has achieved a milestone with the delivery of its 2,500th AH-64 Apache helicopter to the US Army.
The unit handed over to the army is an E-model Apache helicopter rolled off the company’s production line in Mesa, Arizona.

In January 1984, Boeing heritage company McDonnell Douglas delivered the first AH-64 A-model Apache to the US Army.

By GlobalDataOver the years, the Apache helicopter has undergone modernisation to meet the mission requirements and features capabilities to conduct multi-missions in operational environments.
It has been deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The helicopter’s communications and navigation capabilities to offer improved situational awareness and coordination.
It features faster multi-core mission processor, the Fire Control Radar, a split-torque face gear transmission, a 701D engine and composite main rotor blades.
Currently, the vehicle is in service with the US Army and the defence forces of 15 other nations.
In July last year, the US Army awarded the second multi-year contract for the production and remanufacture of AH-64E Apache attack helicopters to Boeing.
