CACI International has secured a task order to provide research and development on cryptographic modernisation, information security and tactical network protection to US Army.

The five-year single-award task order has a ceiling value of $465m. the expertise will be provided to the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command’s (CCDC) command, control, computers, communications, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISR) centre.

Under the GSA Alliant II contract vehicle, the task order is awarded by the US Army’s Cyber Security and Information Division (CSIA).

The company will help enhance cyber defence capabilities for C5ISR systems.

CACI president and CEO John Mengucci said: “With this new work, CACI’s mission experts will support the army’s C5ISR capabilities from the desktop to outer space and enable the service to advance critical technologies from the lab to the field.”

CSIA will lead the US Army in cryptographic modernisation, information security and tactical network protection as a division of the Army Space and Terrestrial Communications Directorate, C5ISR Centre, CCDC, US Army Futures Command (AFC).

New software-defined capabilities will be provided to the army across its multiple modernisation initiatives and research areas.

Communications and cyber experts at CACI will assist in securing next-generation 5G networks and improve the wireless, near-field, satellite and other communications’ security.

Additionally, the company will help meet AFC’s cross-functional teams’ urgent needs. The techniques and technologies will allow army lower risks for its networks.

It will also move innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence from the laboratory to the field.
