The Department of Defense (DoD) has announced the launch of the Australian Industry Capability Roadshow online giving a chance to companies to pitch their capabilities to Defence and LAND 400 Phase 3 tenderers.
The move comes in response to social distancing regulations amid the outbreak of the coronavirus (Covid-19).

Companies participating in the virtual Roadshow are located in Darwin, Perth, Launceston, Adelaide, Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra.
The Roadshow is anticipated to conclude by the end of May. It will help local companies to join the Australian Government’s multi-billion investment to replace the army’s fleet of infantry fighting vehicles.
In October last year, Hanwha Defense Australia and Rheinmetall Defence Australia were shortlisted as tenders for the project. The contract was signed by Australian DoD for the Risk Mitigation Activity (RMA) phase of the LAND 400 Phase 3 programme. This includes the evaluation stage under the project.
These two companies have already met more than 200 businesses across Victoria and Queensland.

By GlobalDataAustralian Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price said: “The virtual roadshow will provide companies with a similar experience using digital methods to what was provided face to face.
“It is critical we continue to move forward with major acquisition projects like LAND 400 Phase 3, as these projects will help to fuel our post-Covid economic recovery.”
An opportunity to meet both the shortlisted tenders will be provided to the local companies in a virtual meeting room.
During the session, each company is expected to deliver a pitch on their capabilities. Following this, questions will be posed by the tenderers.
