“Given the close geographic region, European countries are doing their due-diligence when selecting a US-validated system.”

The RWS system will be integrated on Oshkosh Defense joint light tactical vehicles (JLTV).

In November last year, the Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania and the US Department of Defense signed a letter of offer and acceptance for 200 JLTVs.

The JLTVs will provide the Lithuanian Armed Forces with improved military capability to defend against existing and future adversaries.

Oshkosh Defense International Programs senior vice-president Mike Ivy said: “We are delighted that the Lithuanian Armed Forces have chosen the JLTV for their next-generation light tactical vehicle.

“With unrivalled off-road performance, payload and protection, the JLTV brings the latest in military tactical wheeled vehicle technology to the battlefield. We stand ready to support the Lithuania Armed Forces on JLTV delivery, training and sustainment in the years to come.”
