The new energy storage unit comes with safety features to ensure reliable operation.

These features include high-voltage interlock loop (HVIL) connectors and a master service disconnect component.

Mobile Electric Power Systems product manager lieutenant colonel Tony Leach said: “We are excited to learn more about the new capabilities the Tactical Energy Storage Unit system will offer.”

Using AMMPS with the tactical energy storage unit is expected to reduce the number of fuel transport runs due to improved fuel efficiency.

The system will also ensure quieter operation of the generators and help increase the safety of soldiers in a combat scenario.

Batteries used on the unit provide increased durability in extreme environmental conditions.
