KDRSS won a US Army contract in May to develop and demonstrate a tethered high-power microwave recorder and electronic attack target (THREAT) system.

The system is intended to be used to evaluate the ability of high-power microwave systems to defeat small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS). KDRSS is a division of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions.

Separately, Kratos has been awarded orders for microwave electronic products in support of command, control, communication, computing, and combat systems (C5).

The company has not disclosed the identity of the customers. The cumulative value of the awards is around $16.3m.

Kratos Microwave Electronics Division president Yonah Adelman said: “These recent contract awards support our business unit’s near all-time high backlog and the future growth trajectory we are forecasting for the business.”
