Cubic Defence Australia has secured a contract extension to continue providing a managed workforce solution for the Australian Defence Simulation and Training Centre (ADSTC) Simulation Support Services (SSS).
The company stated that the contract plays a major role in building the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) future simulation capability.

The contract has a base period of 18 months and includes options for further extension.
ADSTC is involved in designing and delivering end-to-end joint and combined training exercises for the ADF.
The centre uses simulation technology to enhance realism, stimulate command, control and communications, as well as distributed mission training (DMT).
In DMT, geographically separated units can train individually, as teams, or as joint operations in a common synthetic environment.

By GlobalDataCubic Defence Australia general manager Miles Macdonald said: “Cubic looks forward to continuing its close partnership with ADSTC and to growing its strong simulation support services team.”
The company has noted that it will continue to assist the ADF in the ‘delivery of Simulation Enabled Training events and the realisation of future training capability’.
In July 2015, Cubic was selected as the primary contractor for the SSS contract.
The $18m four-year contract required the firm to support ADF’s training and simulation institutions.
Under the contract, the company provided simulation services to enhance training capabilities.
In March, the Australian Department of Defence signed a contract with Lockheed Martin Australia to boost ADF’s simulation capabilities.
The government is investing around A$897m ($631.47m) to upgrade the simulation capabilities to be better equipped for future defence operations.
In another development, Cubic Defence Australia’s parent company Cubic has started construction on a San Diego, US, site that will serve as its future headquarters.
