In addition to Stryker brigades, the WIN-T Inc 2 secure communications network foundation is fielded to 12 infantry brigade combat teams (BCT) and four division headquarters.

"The highly mobile and operationally simplified Increment 2 allows soldiers to quickly and simultaneously address multiple missions in any environment, across the mission field or between continents."

General Dynamics Mission Systems president Chris Marzilli said: "Fielding WIN-T Increment 2 to Army Stryker Brigades closes the communications gap between fast moving SBCTs and ‘boots on the ground’ soldiers.

"The highly mobile and operationally simplified Increment 2 allows soldiers to quickly and simultaneously address multiple missions in any environment, across the mission field or between continents."

The WIN-T Inc 2 provides on-the-move capability and a mobile infrastructure by employing military and commercial satellite connectivity and line-of-sight (terrestrial) radios and antennas to achieve end-to-end connectivity and dynamic networking operations.

Available in three increments, WIN-T is claimed to be the US Army’s top-tier, mobile command and control system, providing soldiers with mission critical audio, video and data to improve battlefield awareness and support the full spectrum of army operations worldwide.

The WIN-T Inc 2 serves as the secure communications backbone for soldiers and commanders at the company level to connect with each other, access mission-critical situational awareness and stay connected while on the move.

In addition, the network enables company commanders to communicate with higher headquarters in their vehicle, and receive their orders in real-time.

The company engineers and technology experts are continuously working to make the WIN-T Inc 2 easier to use, while reducing the size, weight and power requirements, using feedback provided by soldiers during evaluation events, and from those returning from their deployments and from training activities.
