US-based Mercury Systems has secured a contract to supply radio frequency (RF) modules for an electronic warfare (EW) application.

Awarded by a major government agency, the $15.4m follow-on contract will see the company supply an RF digital and processing subsystem solution for the application.

Delivery under the contract is expected to continue through the next several quarters.

The $28m contract requires the company to provide digital signal processing subsystems for a ground-based, ballistic missile defence radar processing application.

Mercury’s signal processing technology is expected to provide lower ownership costs for the customer’s critical airborne programme.

In January, the company was contracted to support an airborne sensor processing application for fighter aircraft.

Under the purchase order, the company will provide the military with advanced programmes using the latest commercial technology.

The company’s solutions power a range of critical defence and intelligence applications for more than 300 programmes, including Aegis, Patriot, SEWIP, F-35 and Gorgon Stare.
