FNSS Savunma Sistemleri has secured a contract to supply anti-tank vehicles for the Turkish Land Forces.

An agreement to this effect was signed between the company and the Turkish Ministry of Defence.

The contract requires the company to supply 260 tracked and wheeled anti-tank vehicles.

"The tracked vehicles will be developed based on FNSS’s Kaplan vehicle platform, while the wheeled variant will be based on the PARS 4×4."

Both versions will feature anti-tank guided missile system turrets with modern fire and command-control capabilities, FNSS said in a statement.

In addition to ready-to-fire missiles, each turret will be equipped with a 7.62mm machine-gun.

The vehicles will be produced and delivered over a period of two years, upon completion of design, development and prototype qualification processes in 2018.

They will offer ballistic and mine protection, and be capable of conducting joint operations with armoured units.

The vehicles’ modular mechanical and electronic infrastructure will allow it to adapt to future requirements.

A joint venture between Nurol Holding and BAE Systems, FNSS has produced more than 2,700 tracked armoured combat vehicles in more than 20 different configurations under several domestic and export contracts.

The company’s vehicles are currently in service with armed forces worldwide.
