Leidos has received a contract to provide analytical operations, intelligence and training services for the Joint Improvised Threat Defeat Organization (JIDO).

Awarded by CACI, the $202m contract requires Leidos to support JIDO's Focused Support / Decisive Effort mission worldwide.

The mission seeks to allow Department of Defense actions to combat improvised threats, as well as support counter-terrorism operations.

Leidos Defense Group president Michael Leiter said: "Our innovative operations, intelligence, and training services will arm JIDO with the capability to understand, disarm and defeat adversaries that employ improvised-threat weapons for nefarious purposes.”

JIDO is said to have developed, established and refined its core capabilities to eliminate improvised threats, such as explosive devices.

It is also committed to applying intelligence and rapid capability developments and enabling US Joint Force preparedness to defeat improvised threats.

The contract has a two-year base period of performance and three one-year options.

In November, the company received a US Department of the Army contract to supply driver training simulation systems.
