Saab has provided its multi-role Carl-Gustaf M4 to Slovakia, which will be the first country to deploy the weapon system.
The man-portable, shoulder-launched weapon was delivered to Slovakia earlier this month.

The Slovak Armed Forces currently use several units of the M3 variant of the multi-role weapon.
Weighing less than 7kg, the Carl-Gustaf M4 is said to be more than 1,000mm in length and offer significant mobility improvements to soldiers.
The M4 is compatible with future technologies, such as intelligent sighting systems and programmable ammunition.
It can also use a wide range of existing anti-armour, anti-structure, anti-personnel and support rounds.

By GlobalDataSaab Europe, Middle East and Africa Market Area head Magnus Lewis-Olsson said: “Due to the fact that Carl-Gustaf M4 is also compatible with future battlefield technology developments, Slovakia now has a system that will substantially increase its defence capabilities.”
Troops using Carl-Gustaf M4 will have a wide range of engagement options and be able to remain agile and effective in any scenario, according to Saab.
The weapon system will allow soldiers to neutralise armoured tanks or enemy troops in defilade, as well as clear obstacles and engage enemies in buildings.
Earlier this month, the company received an SEK106m ($12.77m) order from an undisclosed customer to supply components for the Carl-Gustaf man-portable weapon system.
