INTRACOM Defense Electronics develops electronics, communications systems and advanced software applications in the defense area. The company participates in joint multinational development and productions programs, in cooperation with major international defense systems manufacturers.

INTRACOM Defense Electronics has held defense-related responsibilities and activities for more than 19 years and employs highly-skilled personnel. The scientific staff make up for 55% of our team and the company facilities currently cover an area of over 30,000m².

Military communication systems for the armed forces

The company is engaged in the development and production of military communication systems, encryption devices, command and control systems (C³), missile electronic components, military software applications and testing equipment. It is the largest private electronic systems local supplier, of the Hellenic Armed Forces.

Through Hellenic MoD and multinational programs, INTRACOM Defense Electronics expands its international partnerships with world-leading defense manufacturers such as Boeing, Carl Zeiss Optronics, Diehl BGT Defence, General Dynamics (UK), Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), Northrop Grumman, Ramsys, Raytheon, Saab and Thales. This presents the company with the opportunity to participate in the implementation of state -of-the-art electronics for military systems, such as electronic warfare systems, missile electronics, radars and electro optics.

Wireless communication equipment for the armed forces

The product portfolio amongst others includes the SECLINE range of encryption devices (IP, MBit, a-PLUS), the WiSPR intercommunication system (Wideband intercom and Secure Packet Radio), accompanied by the short-range wireless communication LAN network (WiSPR-WLAN), the iBMS intelligent battle management system, the WISPR-Net integrated communication system for naval platforms and the VSAT terminal 'CRONOS'.

The most recent technological advancement of INTRACOM Defense Electronics regarding broadband communications is the wireless wide-area network (WiWAN) system, which is an advanced secure IP radio system, capable of providing high data rate communications. Also, in the frame of co-productions, INTRACOM Defense Electronics fully manufactures in Greece, under licence from THALES, PR4G V3 F@stnet VHF tactical radios and SYSTEM 3000 HF transceivers.

Data links and electronics for guided missile systems

INTRACOM Defense Electronics develops data links for guided missile systems requiring radio transmission of target and control data from ground transmitter stations to missile receivers. The company enhances its international presence in defense, by successfully participating in multinational development and production programs, such as the IRIS-T short range air-to-air missile and the Evolved Sea-Sparrow Missile (ESSM) program

International co-operation- supporting the Hellenic industrial sector

The company participates in a significant number of Hellenic Ministry of National Defense and international programs, achieving high levels of local added value and supporting the Hellenic industrial sector by allocating a considerable number of contracts to local subcontractors.

The most important of these activities is the PATRIOT PAC-3 long-range air defense system and the development of the respective testing equipment. Recently the company has been involved in the production of PATRIOT subsystems for the US Army, the United Arab Emirates as well as other countries.

As a result of company's know how in the specific weapon system, INTRACOM Defense Electronics has been awarded by NAMSA a five-year contract for the maintenance, repair and support of the European and US PATRIOT systems in Europe.

Other programs of major participation include the Phase III upgrade of the HAWK medium range Air Defense System, the CROTALE short range Air Defense System, the ARTHUR Weapons Locating System, the Self Protection System for the Greek and International F-16 Aircraft, the manufacturing of electronic modules of the AN/APG-68(V)9 radar for the F-16 aircraft to meet needs of the global market, the AGM-65G Maverick Air to Ground Missile and the PHALANX Close-In Weapon System.

INTRACOM Defense Electronics also participated in the co-production of the Airborne Early Warning and Control System (ERIEYE), in the mid-term modernisation of the NATO AWACS aircraft as well as in the co-production of various electronic systems of the Leopard 2 HEL Main Battle Tank, which is also equipped with INTRACOM Defense Electronics' products.

INTRACOM Defense Electronics offers capabilities in maintenance, repair and upgrade of defense electronics equipment. As a result of its technological know-how, program management, quality assurance system and system development, INTRACOM Defense Electronics has established industrial agreements with leading defense manufacturers. Its export activities have reached 98% of 2011 annual revenue in ten countries.
