On Monday, 26 October 2009, HRH the Princess Royal visited MilSys (UK) Ltd in Hereford to mark the national and international success of the company. MilSys provides deployable rapid assembly shelters (DRASH) to the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) and international markets.

HRH the Princess Royal was met by managing director Andy Cowling and members of the company’s management team, before touring the assembly plant. During the tour, HRH the Princess Royal met members of staff before having a first-hand look at the company’s core products. These include the DRASH, equipped with deployable command and control equipment (DC2E); sustainably developed ablution systems for use by the military in operational theatres or the construction industry; and, from within MilSys’ medical product range, a new UK haemostatic agent called Celox that controls severe bleeding fast.

Before leaving to meet with other representatives of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, Her Royal Highness unveiled a plaque to commemorate her visit.
