The Michigan National Guard has partnered with local and state officials to support free, drive-through Covid-19 testing in Cadillac and Wexford County. Around 18 members from the 182 Task Force were deployed to the Baker College of Cadillac parking lot to assist with testing. Nearly 1,000 tests were available for residents. Meanwhile, Indiana National Guard helped test long-term care staff across the state. More than 47,000 employees at 520 facilities were tested last month. In North Carolina, guard members have distributed personal protective equipment (PPE) for school nurses in public and charter schools in the state.

South Africa has deployed 47 South African National Defence Force (SANDF) medical personnel to the Eastern Cape city of Port Elizabeth to support efforts to fight Covid-19 pandemic, according to AFP. The team of SANDF military health practitioners includes doctors, nurses, clinical support staff and technicians. They were brought in the province requested military assistance. In June, some Cuban medical personnel were posted to help the province, which has seen a record surge in coronavirus cases.

The Serbian military has constructed a makeshift field hospital following a spike in the number of new Covid-19 cases in the capital Belgrade. The emergency field hospital opened inside the Belgrade Arena and is equipped with 500 beds. This facility was set up after the military built another 110-bed field hospital in the southern town of Novi Pazar.
