The Indian Navy’s Eastern Naval Command has developed a solution to remotely monitor the vital signs of Covid patients. The solution was designed after a request from the Vishakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), reported local media sources. A team of two officers and four workers of the Naval Dockyard-Visakhapatnam were involved in the conversion of audio-visual output of the bedside patient monitoring system to High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) output. This is incorporated for all beds in the intensive care unit (ICU) via a digital video recorder. The HDMI output is relayed on a display located outside the ICU for the staff to easily monitor.
