French defence contractor Naval Group has provided details of its Covid-19 action plan to protect employees and support clients, and secure the company’s future. The company has filed applications for partial activity and announced the creation of a solidarity fund. It has requested all employees to take days off or rest if their services are not required full-time this month. Activity has also been reduced across all of the group’s shipyards. The company is also implementing a series of cost-saving and cash management measures.

Russia’s Rosoboronexport has said that it is continuing its activities in the military-technical cooperation field with foreign countries amid the coronavirus crisis. The company remains committed to fulfilling its contractual obligations to customers and is promoting Russian military, dual-use and civilian products. Russian defence producers have also confirmed their willingness to continue production during a meeting of the Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation with Foreign States. Moreover, Rosoboronexport has also received several requests to deliver mobile infectious disease hospitals.

The US Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest has awarded a contract for disinfecting services at its military facilities. The not-to-exceed $2.6m contract will cover critical cleaning and disinfecting of areas with confirmed Covid-19 cases in NAVFAC Southwest area of responsibility. Hawaii-based EWA Direction has been awarded the indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity blanket task order.

The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has used its A400M aircraft to transport healthcare equipment, medical supplies and personal protective gear to support the fight against Covid-19. The supplies including three million face masks, 44 units of aerosol boxes were delivered to hospitals, clinics and health facilities in the East Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo. The RMAF has also deployed H225M helicopters to deliver food supplies to 13 locations.
