L3Harris Technologies has secured a follow-on production contract worth up to $200m to supply guided multiple launch rocket system (GMLRS) Insensitive Munition (IM) propulsion units.

The contract represents the largest GMLRS IM order for L3Harris from Lockheed Martin within a single 12-month timeframe.

It will be the first order that L3Harris will execute at its newly built facility in Camden, Arkansas. The Camden facility, which was financed by the Defense Production Act Title III cooperative agreement, will increase annual production capacity by over 30%.

L3Harris will accelerate production and meet rising demand through its new 60,000ft² GMLRS energetics facility in Camden. Inert components will be produced separately at the company’s Advanced Manufacturing Facility–South in Huntsville, Alabama.

The company said that its output of GMLRS propulsion units has risen by almost 80% as a result of new manufacturing methods and experience gained over several decades.

L3Harris’ subsidiary Aerojet Rocketdyne, missile solution president Scott Alexander said: “This GMLRS IM contract demonstrates L3Harris’ expertise in missile propulsion technology and its commitment to delivering high-performance, reliable propulsion solutions for military operations.

“L3Harris and Department of War investments in expanding capacity and modernizing solid rocket motor production are bearing fruit, ensuring L3Harris continues delivering critical propulsion capability at scale and at speed to the US and its allies.”

In May 2025, L3Harris began construction on five new solid rocket motor facilities in Virginia.

Located at the company’s Center of Excellence for Propellant Research and Small to Medium-sized Solid Rocket Motor Production, the facilities will feature technologies such as modular factory design and robotic flex cells.

In November 2025, L3Harris initiated construction on the Arkansas Advanced Propulsion Facilities (AAPF), a campus that will include more than 20 buildings over 110 acres at the Camden site.
