Vector Aerospace UK has received an extension to the Lynx Aircraft and Component Servicing, Repair and Overhaul contract from the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD).

As part of the contract extension, the company will continue provision of support to both the UK Army and Royal Navy’s Lynx aircraft until the end of 2015.

The contract, whose value remain undisclosed, secure Lynx depth maintenance at Fleetlands operation, which serves as the sole provider of maintenance and repair overhaul (MRO) services for the UK military Lynx fleets since 2005.

Based in Gosport, Hampshire, UK, the site represents the main UK provider of depth maintenance support to the Lynx Fleet across its 32 year operational life.

Vector Aerospace UK managing director Michael Tyrrell said the service extension ensures that the UK Lynx fleet can address all of its existing and future requirements.

"It will allow us to continue supporting the front line commands with well maintained airworthy aircraft."

Lynx team leader colonel Darren Crook said: "It will allow us to continue supporting the front line commands with well maintained airworthy aircraft, which is a fundamental role of the lynx project team."
