The Royal Saudi Land Forces Aviation Command (RSLFAC) has awarded a follow-on contract to Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) to upgrade and extend the service life of its fleet of Black Hawk UH-60A helicopters.

Under the contract, the company will upgrade 12 UH-60A helicopters to the UH-60L configuration for improved performance and mission readiness.

Each UH-60 helicopter will be integrated with a high-speed shaft, a sealed lead-acid battery and an Aircraft Flight Control Computer (AFCC).

The company will also perform a T700 to T701D engine upgrade for increased power and reliability, as well as flight-control, avionics and instrument panel upgrades.

The A-to-L conversion contract is the second international modernisation programme under contract with SAS.
