Orbital ATK has secured a contract to provide support to the US Department of Defense’s (DoD) non-US standard ammunition (NSA) programme.
Under the terms of the initial $20m indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, the company will supply non-standard ammunition and mortar weapons systems to unidentified international allies for a period of five years.
The latest contract is a follow-on of the previously awarded $300m NSA IDIQ contract that expired in December 2015.
Orbital ATK has delivered approximately 600 million units of NSA products to US allies since the beginning of the NSA programme in 2008.
Orbital ATK Defence Systems Group Small Calibre Systems division vice-president and general manager Kent Holiday said: "Orbital ATK is pleased to continue providing non-standard ammunition to the US Army for use in strategic geographic theatres throughout the world.
"The strength of our team is our worldwide supply chain that provides affordable, high-quality ammunition to our allies."
