Northrop Grumman’s Next Generation Automatic Test Station (NGATS) system has completed a six-week US Army formal Product Verification Test (PVT) at DRS Test & Energy Management’s Huntsville facility in Alaska, US.

During the test, the system exceeded PVT requirements, including field duration and stated mean time between system aborts during testing.

NGATS is a mobile, rapidly deployable and reconfigurable testing system that provides military test sustainment support for all of the army’s electronic and electro-optical weapon systems.

The US Army had awarded the NGATS contract to Northrop for the procurement of eight LRIP units in 2010.

Deliveries of the system will begin later this year.
