L-3 Communications has received a contract worth $208m to provide night vision systems, multi-function aiming devices and laser rangefinders for the Australian Army.
Awarded by the Australian Defence Force under the LAND 53 Phase 1BR programme, the contract will be executed by US-based L-3 Warrior Systems and Australia-based L-3 Oceania.
The US Army has awarded a $48.55m contract to Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems to modernise the advanced gunnery training system for the M1A2S tank.
The contractual work is scheduled to be completed in April 2019.
Meggitt Training Systems has been contracted by the UK Ministry of Defence to manufacture 866 BlueFire convertible wireless weapon simulators for the SA80 main infantry service rifle.
In a separate contract, Meggitt has agreed to provide 70 Sharpshooter rifles for the UK’s dismounted close combat trainer (DCCT).
