Harris Corporation has received a tactical radio supply contract worth $1.7bn from the US Army Contracting Command.

Harris Corporation has received a tactical radio supply contract worth $1.7bn from the US Army Contracting Command.

The contract will require Harris to supply radios, ancillaries, spares and services to Afghanistan.

The contractual work is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2021.

"Lockheed will supply GMLRS rockets to the US Army, US Marine Corps, as well as to four other countries."

Lockheed Martin has been contracted by the US Army to produce ammunition, alternative warheads, unitary rockets and reduced-range practice rockets for the guided multiple launch rocket system (GMLRS).

As part of the contract, Lockheed will supply GMLRS rockets to the US Army, US Marine Corps, as well as to four other countries.

Alion Science and Technology has been awarded a $137m, five-year contract to provide technical services for the electromagnetic spectrum (EMS).

Under the contract, Alion and the Defense Information Systems Agency will partner on the research and development activities to enhance EMS capabilities.

The US Missile Defense Agency has awarded a contract worth $12m to ATC Materials for the production of a transportation protection system.

The TPS armour is intended to protect extended range standard missiles from bullets and warhead fragments during transportation.
