UAS Tactical Systems has been awarded a contract by Thales UK to provide an intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) support capability for UK armed forces.
Under the $70m contract, U-TacS will provide support for Hermes 450 systems, train UK MoD staff in the use and maintenance of the system, contractor logistic support (CLS) and programme management services.
The contract is a follow-on urgent operating capability (UOR) and has a performance period of one and a half years.
Work will be carried out at the company’s facility in Leicester, UK.
Elbit Systems holds a 51% stake in U-TacS, with the balance owned by Thales UK.
