The two armies will participate in joint training in mountain and jungle warfare in India next year, and will also assist Vietnamese forces in UN Peacekeeping operations, according to Asian News International.
The defence ministers of both countries announced the bilateral cooperation after the conclusion of the first ASEAN Plus Eight Defence Ministers’ Meeting held in Hanoi.
The expansion of defence cooperation with Vietnam is part of India’s Look East Policy.
