Iran has unveiled 20 electronic, radar and optical projects as part of the country’s long-term plan to expand its defence capabilities and upgrade equipment, the Defence Ministry has said.
Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said the projects would counter Western war threats over its nuclear energy programme.
The projects will develop electronic warfare, radar technology, navigation and avionics systems, and thermal cameras, according to Press TV.
He said though upgrading equipment was among top priorities of the Ministry, electronics and communications had the major role in achieving sustainable development.
