Harris has been awarded a contract by Elbit Systems to provide engineering services to integrate its Falcon tactical radio systems for the Australian defence forces (ADF).

Under the $9.5m three-year contract, Harris will provide engineering services to integrate its Falcon III tactical radio systems into the battle management system being developed by Elbit for the ADF.

The company will also provide the AN/PRC-152 in vehicular amplifier adapters to support the installation of equipment in more than 1,000 armoured vehicles.

The systems can wirelessly connect soldiers, commanders and other devices in the field and provide the ADF with networking capabilities to enhance situational awareness and quick decision-making.

The radio systems will be part of the secure communications backbone for the ADF’s Land 75, Land 125 and Joint Project 2072 command, control and communications modernisation programmes.
