The Polish Defence Ministry has awarded a contract to Terma to provide self-protection equipment for 22 Polish helicopters.

Under the contract, the company will supply electronics and aerostructures, as well as test, approval, and certification of the completed helicopters, and equipment maintenance training for Polish defence personnel.

Deliveries will begin in November and the equipment is expected to be installed in Poland by the end of 2012.

The fleet of 22 helicopters comprises seven Mi-17 and 15 Mi-24 type combat helicopters, which will primarily undergo troop transport, and search and rescue operations.
