The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has awarded a contract to Data Link Solutions (DLS) to supply multifunctional information distribution system – low volume terminals (MIDS-LVTs).

Under the $29.6m contract, the company will supply MIDS-LVTs to the Swedish armed forces, which will be installed on Gripen fighters, Erieye C2 aircraft, and various ground and maritime applications.

The compact, low-cost link 16 terminal provides a critical airborne, ground and maritime link, and is specifically designed for space applications, including fighter aircraft.

The MIDS-LVT enables simultaneous coordination of forces and situational awareness in battlefield operations.

Deliveries under the ten-year contract are scheduled to begin later this year and will continue through 2012.
