Sagem will supply 285 MOP panoramic observation systems and 285 EPS-LT stabilised pointing systems for the French Army’s VBCI armoured infantry fighting vehicles under a contract awarded by Nexter.

Specifically designed for the vehicle commander, the MOP comprises a stabilised two-axis pointing platform with a non-cooled thermal imager.

The system provides panoramic observation capabilities and target designation around the vehicle and also provides driving assistance.

The EPS-LT light turret equipped with gyrometric sensors also provides directional control and stabilisation for the VBCI’s weapons, enabling accurate shooting using the vehicle’s 25mm cannon and 7.62mm machine gun.

The contract brings the total number of VBCIs using Sagem’s MOP and EPS-LT to 521.
