The BAE Systems-Northrop Grumman team has submitted its proposal for the US Army’s ground combat vehicle (GCV).
The proposed BAE-Northrop GCV is the first combat vehicle designed from the ground up to offer enhanced survivability, mobility and versatility specifically to meet the IED threat in Afghanistan.
The team’s GCV will also incorporate a integrated electronic network capability and embedded intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets.
It will be scalable, and able to be reconfigured to the level of protection required for a variety of operations.
As per the teaming agreement, Northrop will serve as the C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) provider for the GCV.
