The Australian Army has awarded a contract to Elbit Systems to provide support services for its Land 75/125 battle management system (BMS) capability programme.
Under the A$331m ($298m) contract, the company will provide services including supply, integration, installation and support of a battle group and below command, control and communications (BGC3) system for the army’s land 75/125 programme.

The BGC3 system incorporates a BMS for soldiers, vehicle-mounted commanders and headquarters / command post staff.
BMS is a tactical command and control system, which will automate combat messaging and increase the commander’s battlespace awareness and help in the execution of operations.
The contract allows the Australian Army to operate a networked brigade with latest technology in battle management and communications systems.
In addition, the capability allows army personnel to carry out missions more efficiently, safely and effectively, and reduces the risk of casualties resulting from friendly fire.
