The Canadian Forces have received an Aurora CP140 aircraft equipped with next-generation integrated mission system from General Dynamics (GD) Canada.
As part of the Aurora incremental modernisation project (AIMP), the block III CP140 aircraft has been equipped with a new data management system (DMS), acoustic suite subsystem, integrated mission system and reconfigurable crew stations.
The GD-developed integrated mission system along with world-class sensors will equip the Aurora aircraft with necessary surveillance capabilities for enhanced domestic and international missions.
Aurora CP140 is the first fully modernised AIMP aircraft to proceed to full-scale acceptance testing.
The new air combat capability will enhance the operational effectiveness of long-range patrol aircraft used by Canadian Forces, and be capable of performing surface, undersea maritime and overland surveillance.
