The US Department of Defense (DOD) is using Savi's Smartchain I-Guides solution as a centralised data repository for the defence forces and their suppliers to systematically keep track of military items.

I-Guides is web-hosted software that improves item-level supply visibility for defence organisations while enabling every organisation to create its own unique identification code within standardised formats.

Military product information such as location, maintenance or delivery status can be accessed or updated in the data repository using information formats dynamically that are common to all suppliers.

A total of 30 major defence suppliers are using the technology in compliance with the DOD's own Item Unique Identification policy.

I-Guides also provides all types of wireless tracking and sensor technologies to manage, monitor and audit the assets and inventory and know when it requires maintenance or repair from anywhere in the world.
