The Iranian Armed Forces have started a series of military exercises aimed at enhancing operational readiness in the western and central parts of the country.

The exercise, codenamed Modafean-e-Aseman-e-Velayat 2, will be carried out in three stages and, according to Khatam-ol-Anbia Air Defence Base Brigadier Commander General Ahmad Miqqani, war games will be part of them.

The military drills will be conducted in an area of about 600,000km² and will see various weaponries and technologies, including air-defence systems, armaments and equipment used to simulate enemy attacks in use.

Modafean-e-Aseman-e-Velayat 2 is specifically aimed at demonstrating the capabilities of enemy electronic war capabilities.

In addition, Iranian armed forces also deploy indigenous military equipment, including tanks, air-defence systems, missiles and electronic warfare technologies.
